Welcome to the Edgcumbe class page! Edgcumbe are taught by Miss Giles for most of the week. On Wednesdays, Mrs Abbott teaches them. Miss Burchett and Mrs Daymond help the class with their learning through the week. Keep scrolling down to find some information and pictures about our learning.

Home Learning Expectations
Learning
Every day we start with phonics (for those children still on the phonics programme) and reading masters to increase reading comprehension. We then have an English lesson followed by maths after break. Our maths is taught separately for year 2 and 3. After lunch we have handwriting practice and reading time. Following from this, we have our wider curriculum consisting of science, history, geography, art, DT, PE, PSHE, computing, RE, music and French.
PE Days
Our PE days are Wednesdays and Fridays. Please make sure that children have their kit ready for these days.
Home Learning Expectations
In Year 2 and 3, the expectation is that children:
Read every night
20 minutes of Phonics books (Y2)
20 minutes of Accelerated Reader books (Y3)
Times Tables travels - practice sheet sent home
10 minutes 1 x a week - TTRockstars
1 x a week - Spelling Shed
Children are rewarded for completing Home Learning by being given Dojos.
